City League
Cringleford B home
After last week’s impressive win, we entertained league leaders Cringleford B. It was going to be a tough match as they fielded a 1st team player.
Mary and I made a delayed start, we both held serve to stay level at 2-2. Our opponents settled down and we blown away losing 8 games in a row. We didn’t give though and halved the last four games for a 4-12 defeat.
Next door Nick and Pete raced into a 6-2 league but the visitors hit back and levelled the score. They were on top now and went on to win, 9-7.
With nothing to lose, Mary and I faced the 2nd pair. We made a close start but where always behind. The visitors pulled away and there was little we could do to stem the tide. We kept fighting and won 2 of the last 4 games for a respectable 5-11 defeat.
Next door, Nick and Pete were over powered by the big hitting. We fought gamely but went down 2-14
A heavy but not unexpected defeat. Next week sees the big one, Stanmore C away.
