Aylsham away

On a wet miserable Sunday morning we visited league leaders Aylsham. It turned out to be a classic.

Ann and Chris had a tight battle in the ladies, neither side were keen to give way, but the home side edged 7-5 7-5.

I partnered Lucio in the mens double. We made a good start leading 5-2 but Aylsham hit back to take the set into a tie break. We kept our nerve to take the set 7-6. Once again we went 5-2 up only for Aylsham to hit back. We had 3 set points but failed to take them. It proved costly as we went down 7-5 and halved the rubber. In the mixed,

Chris and I were involved in another tough tussle. It went to a tie break which we lost. The long match took it’s toll as we went down 6-1.

Next door Ann and Luccio dropped the first set 6-4 but took the 2nd to a tie break, before losing.
